We offer a variety of safety features that can be incorporated into our builds. While some of these features are included as standard on certain buildings, like our playhouses, we can add them to any structure upon request.

What are the safety features of a playhouse?

• The door is fitted with a full-length hinge and a small gap at the top and bottom to prevent children from jamming their fingers when it closes.

• The veranda bannisters are spaced evenly yet closely enough to ensure that even the youngest children's heads can't get stuck between them.

• Bannisters are installed vertically to prevent children from using their feet to climb.

• The roof pitch is designed at a specific angle to deter children from climbing onto it.

• The door handles are designed so children cannot get locked in; a single turn from either side opens the door.

• Windows are made from Perspex as standard, ensuring they won’t shatter like glass if struck by a football.

We do not install upstairs areas in playhouses as it could be dangerous if children fall or are pushed from the upper level. This design was confirmed by the Local Authority during inspections and has remained unchanged since.

We always recommend full supervision while children are playing in or around the buildings for their safety.

What other safety features can we add? The safety features used in our playhouses, such as the full-length hinge, can be applied to other structures, particularly sheds in areas where children are present. During our site visit and quotation process, we will include any relevant safety recommendations based on the specific needs of the site.
